It is a great honour and pleasure for us to announce the upcoming event of the Fifteenth European Shin Conference
to be held in the town of Bad Reichenhall, Germany on August 26th, through August 29th, 2008.
The topic of the 2008 Conference is:

Yo no naka annon nare, 15th European Shin Conference, Bad Reichenhall, 26-28/08/2008

Yo no naka annon nare

May peace and tranquility prevail throughout the world
Möge Friede und Harmonie die ganze Welt durchdringen

-------------------------------------------------------
Detailed Schedule is now available.

Registration is closed as of 05/07/2008.
-------------------------------------------------------

Since 1986 this conference has been a biennial 4-day event. The 15th edition starts with the 12th European Branch Conference of the International Association of Shin Buddhist Studies (IASBS), taking place on 26-27 August 2008; directly followed by the 15th Conference of European Shinshu Communities on 28-29 August 2008.
Participants are of course encouraged to attend both conferences.

These conferences have for the last decades provided many, Europeans and non Europeans alike, with the opportunity to hear the Teachings of our most respected Founder, Shinran Shōnin. Through the years these conferences have provided a forum in which scholars, priests and lay-persons have shared their knowledge, experience and deep trust with one another in order to further the cause of our noble Hongwanj-ha Pure Land Tradition. For many the Kikyōshiki ceremony during these past conferences has been the pivotal moment of their lives in the Nembutsu.

This Conference could be an adequate preparation for the more global activities in 2011-2012, organised by our mother temple Nishi Hongwanji in Kyoto at the celebration of 750 years Shinran Shōnin (親鸞聖人). In fact, its subject has been inspired by this global event in Japan and in so many Hongwanji temples abroad.

Registration is closed as of 05/07/2008.

IASBS European Branch Conference 26-27 August 2008: € 25,-
